 Liz Stephenson began making bead necklaces in late 2005 and what commenced as a hobby soon became a passion, then an obsession and Gemmissima was born. Due to the good fortune of making annual trips overseas, beads have been purchased in Rome, Venice, New York, Athens, Bangkok, Hong Kong and China. Many vintage beads from Japan, Germany and the former Czechoslovakia have also been found via the Internet. All necklaces are individually designed and each is unique – the beads may appear in several necklaces but each combination is different. Liz is happy to make necklaces to order to match an outfit, redesign old beads and will repair/restring broken beads at a very reasonable cost. |
